He even took a plunge in politics and managed to become an MP. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Tiruchendur constituency on the AIADMK ticket in 1998. His film and political career both failed for a certain period. As times went by, not only his film offers dried up, but he also lost his fame in politics. Ramarajan and Nalini, after 2 kids and 20 years later they divorced. After divorce, Nalini is active starring in a line of Tamil TV serials. Nalini also acted in Kolangal-a very famous serial in Sun TV in the role of a mother-in-law. After he has out of Tamil film, he didn't act for any supporting charectors. Ramarajan met with a major accident in 12th of December, 2010 and said to be in critical condition.
