He is the son of veteran Tamil actor Muthuraman. He did his B.A. graduation from New College, Chennai. He tied knot to his lover former actress Rahini. They have two sons. This charm and handsome actor entered filmdom through director Bharathiraja. His boyish, innocent role in his Tamil debut film Alaigal Oyivathilai was well acclaimed among the audience. He is known for his peculiar dialogue delivery, romantic looks, and immense humor. He portrayed more lover boy roles in late 80’s. His romantic performances in Ninaivellam Nithya, Varusham 16, Agni Natchathiram, etc. are popular among the cine goers.
